Real Estate Recovery: Edison's Coming Soon to Edwardsville, IL

Edison's Edwardsville ILIn the world of real estate, it's great to see dirt moving on a construction site again as a bright idea develops right before your eyes.

A new entertainment facility called Edison's is being created along IL-157 in Edwardsville, Illinois. Plans call for Edison's to open this December. The site, across from Sunset Hills Cemetery and next to Sunset Hills Country Club, is pictured to the right.

Edison's slogan is "What a Bright Idea." The complex will offer a 12-lane boutique bowling alley, a huge laser tag arena, an arcade, a frozen yogurt shop, a lounge and a restaurant all under one roof. An outdoor patio is planned to overlook the lush grounds of neighboring Sunset Hills golf course.

In a university town like Edwardsville, IL -- home to Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville -- a new entertainment complex so close to campus will be a big hit with the students.

The faciity is approximately one mile from I-270 and a mile from the entrance to the university. It's also very close to Edwardsville High School.

The local owners of Edison’s are filling a need in Edwardsville where two bowling alleys and a rollerskating rink closed a number of years ago.

This bowling facility, however, will combine a high-end experience with entertaining elements such as lights, music, projection screens, leather sofas and coffee tables. As the Edison's partners said in a news release, "This is not your grandpa's brand of bowling."

Nancy - new construction is a welcome sign indicating that real estate is on the way to recovery ..... those that invest in projects like this do not do so with out a lot of research.

Hello Nancy:

Sounds like a great project ans perhaps there will be some trickle-down effect with an increase in consumer real estate.  Good luck

I agree, when you see dirt being moved, times are good! (provided you're on the top side of it of course!)  Sounds like a wonderful project for the entire community to enjoy.

Hi Nancy, It's nice to see these places opening and thriving. It not only helps the economy but makes folks happy. Sounds like a win/win to me.
